John Lamoreux’s career in the automotive industry started back in 1983, when as a teenager he offered a mobile auto detail and repair service. Encouraged by his mother Dorothy (a local realtor) he started working on cars belonging to her work colleagues and the rest is history.

In the summer of 2005, the purpose built “state of art facility” situated on 3 acres (now the home of The Auto & Tire Doctor) opened it’s doors for business and has continued it’s legacy of providing first class workmanship and exemplary customer service to the residents and business owners of Truckee and the North Lake Tahoe areas.

Our ASE-Certified Technicians have a wealth of technical experience which is constantly updated to provide you with the highest quality of service. We stay abreast of new technologies and invest in the latest diagnostic equipment enabling our dedicated staff to diagnose and repair both fuel injection systems and the computers that control them.

Biographies:

John (The Car Whisperer) Lamoreux - Owner/President

To say that cars are a passion is an understatement. As John’s alias indicates there is nothing that he doesn’t know or hasn’t seen when it comes to cars!

From the mobile automotive detailing business that John single handedly started as a teenager back in 1983, to the purpose built state of the art facility built in 2005 (now the proud home of The Auto & Tire Doctor) in Truckee, CA. John’s world is consumed with the love of cars! An avid NASCAR fan and sponsor of 2 dirt cars there isn’t a moment, 365 days a year 24/7, that these objects of warm affection and devotion do not feature on his radar.

John is the 3rd generation USA Citizen of the Lamoreux family (French European in origin) with a rich tradition in customer service and automotive experience as the pictures below, of Grandfather Harry R. Lamoreux’s store the “Lamoreux Trading Post & Stables” in Cherokee, Iowa & Harry (sitting on the ground) working on a Dodge Touring Car Circa 1900 demonstrate, you could say it’s in the blood!!

Bob Deblasi - Service Writer/Parts Manager

With over 20 years retail and wholesale management experience, and having worked for one of the largest automotive parts suppliers in the nation, carrying in excess of 100,000 items, Bob’s wealth of industry knowledge is second to none.

Twice nominated ASE Counterman of The Year by customers and his peers Bob’s understanding of the business truly makes him an authority in his learned field. When it comes to identifying and ordering the correct parts first time, Bob’s experience is integral to us getting our customers back on the road as fast as possible.

When Bob is not checking our customers in at the front counter, or working hard behind the scenes to locate that elusive part, he enjoys baseball (Go Cubbies!!) or spending a relaxing day at the river fishing.

Beth Schell - Service Manager

The friendly, knowledgeable and consummately professional face of the service counter at The Auto & Tire Doctor belongs to Beth Schell. Her hands-on approach to business and the industry expertise she has acquired over many years, ensures our customers are back on the road as fast as possible.

During ten years in the automotive industry Beth has gained wide experience, working in service writing and parts, as well as outside sales for a major automotive parts company.

You will never find Beth in a bad mood. Need a happy friendly smile to brighten your day? The service counter at the Auto Doctor is the place be.

In Beth’s spare time you can find her either cooking, gardening, enjoying the outdoors, or chilling’ on the couch with a glass of wine and her jammers. Beth and her husband have five daughters and six grandchildren with hopes for plenty more to come.

Whether you need a simple oil change or have an extensive insurance claim repair, Beth will make sure the transaction is as quick, simple and painless as possible.

Andrew “Drew” Sanders - Master Audi/VW & ASE Certified Technician

The Auto & Tire Doctor is pleased to introduce Andrew “Drew” Sanders to our team of service professionals. Andrew is a factory certified Master Audi and VW Technician in addition to being an ASE Master Certified Technician. Andrew brings with him over 19 years of experience working with European vehicles and is also equipped with a comprehensive array of specialist tools and equipment to repair your vehicle correctly, on time, the first time.

Andrew was the gold and silver medal winner in the Skills USA Mechanics Olympics in 2001 and 2002 and also won the 1999 ASE/Mitchell Repair Technician of the Future award.

Passionate about life itself Drew enjoys his precious free time with his wife and baby daughter, at his home at Donner Lake here in Truckee.

Clint Borden - Master Technician

ASE Master Certified, Clint attended UTI trade school in the Auto and Diesel program where he graduated top of his class, specializing in 4X4 and diesel performance, Subaru and computer diagnostics. Clint brings seventeen years of experience to The Auto & Tire doctor.

Whatever you’re looking for, from economy to jaw-dropping power, turbocharger upgrades, exhaust systems, specialized electronics, or custom lifts; whether you need the truck for towing or off-road performance, Clint is the man for the job. He will work with you to achieve the best possible performance from your engine, and the results you were looking for.

Automotive repair is a passion for Clint, he applies his talent and creativity to each and every challenge and the results show in every vehicle he works on.

Clint was born and raised right here in Truckee California, graduating from Truckee High School in 1993. Clint is married and has a four year old son. If you don’t see Clint at the shop, you will find him enjoying the Truckee outdoors. Hunting, camping, fishing, and back country snowmobiling are just a few of his hobbies.

Paul Nagao - Master Technician

With over thirty years in the automotive industry Paul has a wealth of experience and the qualifications to back it up being a MAC certified technician.

Paul puts his exceptional talent and expertise to work at the Auto Doctor by performing repair, maintenance and service work, along with classic and project car restorations.

When Paul isn’t busy fixing a car, you might just see him and his family on the slopes, or at a lake enjoying all the opportunities for recreation, and scenic beauty our mountain community has to offer.

Having previously spent a five year period working at the Auto Doctor, we are keen to welcome Paul back to our outstanding team of technicians on his recent return to Truckee.
