Our car broke down. We had it towed in-- they had if figured out and a quote to us in just a couple of hours. They then completed the repairs in the time frame they gave us. They delivered on time and on budget. No tricks-- just good fast service. I recommend them very very highly.

I just had an awesome experience with Allan at the Auto Doctor. I failed trying to replace some headlights, and got one of the new bulbs stuck. In about 10 minutes, in the parking lot, Allan got the bulb unstuck, and replaced all four bulbs for me! And he didn't charge me! Great service, nice guy. We're lucky to have such a great business right here in Truckee.

Fast repair for a failed starter on a 2 hundy mileage Yukon (I must like the body style as I have pretty much replaced everything on it). Highly recommend

I'll admit, we were stuck between a rock and hard place...After our '07 Honda CRV died on us after leaving Tahoe City on our way to Truckee on 89, our vacation looked pretty bleak. The whole Tahoe basin was swamped with out-of-towners, including ourselves, and so services (tow trucks, auto shops and car rentals) were spread thin . We had no idea who to turn to with our dead alternator, so we went to the first auto shop that turned up on our web search and, boy, were we lucky we found The Auto & Tire Doctor. Despite being overwhelmed with their own workload, they worked with me to get our car fixed in just a couple of days. They found a replacement for our alternator and a new battery and we were on the road back to the Bay Area much quicker than the initial 7-day prediction. Thank you for your support and hard work!

I brought my vehicle in for a smog check. No appt and I was in and out within 30 minutes.

I do not enjoy leaving negative reviews, but after waiting for 2 days and spending $400 on a hotel room, I am left with no choice. I was told that my diagnostic would be done on the 1st day I brought it in and hopefully the work could be completed by the next day. NOTHING was done after I called several times, just wanting an update. I was given wildly different timelines by two different people. If your shop is too busy, just tell me and I will go elsewhere. But don't tell me that you can do it and leave me hanging, waiting and spending $100's in the process, just so I have to spend a few hundred more to have my car towed to Sacramento. SERIOUSLY MESSED UP!!! Update 8/7/20 I appreciate the response, but I was told specifically that the diagnostic would be done the next day. That's the main part I was interested in. I respect the hard work and workload of a small business, but the only reason I paid for a hotel was because I was told the diagnistic would be done the next day. When I called the 1st time around noon, I was told that we will call you when it's done. When I called at 4:30pm I was told by another person that we have you in line 1st thing in the morning and to call back at 11am for the report, that person was not available at 11am and never called me back. That is when I called for the tow. I was led to believe by not one, but two people that at least the diagnostic would be done, just to leave empty handed and about $800 poorer for nothing...and it was not 1 day. I checked in Tuesday for the diagnostic report on Wednesday and then led on to Thursday because I was told I was 1st in line, so I extended my hotel for the SOLE purpose of waiting on an answer from your company.
