Truckee Auto Repair

I have a 2005 GMC diesel truck that has been a very reliable truck. It started having a intermitant problem which restricted the engine speed (rpm) to below 2000. I normally do all the work on the truck myself but I was on vacation and didn't have my tools with me. Called auto dr. Because they have a good rating and have a certified diesel mechanic. They gave me an appointment for the next morning. Got the truck in and reviewed the problem with the scheduling tech. The truck was taken into the shop right away. I went to watch the diagnostics and was able to talk to the mechanic. He was very knowledgeable and showed me what the problem was and recommend a repair. We agreed on the repair which would take 2 hrs. The cost of the repair was going to be $550 ($190 parts, $300 labor). Pual, the mechanic, completed the work in 2 hrs and tested the repair, which fixed the problem. This was a very good repair experience for someone who doesn't trust most repair shops.

Easy efficient way to get my snow tires put on! They take appointments and it takes one hour to get the tires swapped. I was able to get on WiFi and get work done while I waited. Thank you.

Limped in to Express Lube on Saturday with a deflating tire, and while tire service is not their calling (Auto and Tire Doc. next door closed on Saturdays), they demounted the tire, analyzed the problem (deep cut from metal road debris), mounted the spare, and sent me on my way with no charge. Quick and friendly, will go to Auto Doc on Monday to follow up, thanks!

Had new snow tires put on our new Jeep. Great tires for our conditions. Installation was quick and done well. It was a busy morning at the Auto Dr due to snow in the forecast. The staff handled customers and phone calls with courtesy and professionalism.

Without an appointment, they took my car with a flat tire on a busy day and fixed it for just $20. What a savior!

I was in a pinch with a broken water pump on a short, holiday week. These guys looked at my car Monday evening (only 2 hours after I called), diagnosed the issue and ordered parts that day, then had it repaired and on the road by mid-day the next day!
