Truckee Auto Repair

We just want to thank you guys for taking care of us last Wednesday, 7/16/14, when our Buick Roadmaster broke down on I-80 at Donner Summit. You diagnosed the problem and got us back on the road, and all the way back to Missouri. Its never fun to break down when you are away from home... we were lucky it happened near such capable mechanics. Thanks again, Bob and Pam Schlett Bolivar, MO

NOT THOROUGH!! NOT HONEST!! DONT TRUST!! My wife and I were visiting from out of town and our car was over heating. We took it to this place and they said our head gasket was leaking and would have to be replaced. $2,500 and a full week with no car was the Auto Doctors prescription to get us back on the road!!!! My car was officially totaled according to the Auto & Tire Doctor. I ended up towing the car over 200 miles to my mechanic at home and he replaced a sensor for $225. My car is totally FINE!!!! Lesson Learned: UNBURNED HYDROCARBONS are not a sign of a blown head gasket! If they tell you it is they are not being very thorough. Get a second opinion! Have someone else look at your car especially if your not local!!!

We broke down in our motorhome on the freeway near truckee and quickly asked Siri for repair centers near us. She gave us 6 choices. The first one wasn't interested because it was close to 5 o'clock. The second call went to the Auto Doctor who said, "Come on in". We met Bob, who is the general manager and he was awesome. He went out of his way to help and was very cordial. As far as we are concerned, there is only 1 repair center in Truckee, The Auto Doctor! Thanks Bob?

I had the best time tonight at Auto Care 101 at The Auto Doctor. It was free and they fed us and gave us gifts too! The Auto Doctor crew was so enthusiastic and gave demos/examples of each part etc. Thanks John for being such a collector for demonstration. A special thank you to Jami from AC Delco (?) for sharing her decades of experience on autos and why everything is in your car and what it does. Also a special thank you to Cindy for sharing her knowledge. It's great to see women sharing knowledge about an area mainly traveled by men. If you get a chance to attend one of these classes, I highly recommend it. I might go again so I can invite friends! It was fun!

the folks at the Auto and Tire Doctor are the best. we have OLD cars: 2003, 1992 and 1985 (that's not a typo). knowledgeable and capable pros at the Auto Doc keep us safely rolling! friendly service with integrity and a great local Truckee business (with free Pac-man and a comfy lounge area) thanks to John, Greg, Bob, Allen, Cindy and everyone at the Auto Doctor

Allen and his staff were super helpful, honest, and professional! We stopped in because of a possible alignment issue on the car. The tire Doctor team took a test drive and determined my problem was due to tire pressure not alignment. They explained the situation and solved the problem. Beat of all, no charge, and NO trumping up of "what you need" in order to scam customers like some other auto repairs out there. HIGHLY reccamended for both locals and travelers alike!

This is definitely the best mechanic I have ever been to. Here's my story. Last Friday we drove up to Tahoe to my ski lease from San Francisco. On the way up my car was shaking and the check engine light went on. We heard about this place through a friend and pulled in at 5:00 pm (They close at 5:30). They are really busy and still taking care of many of their customers but kindly take a look at my car. They think its one of two problems and end up taking my car to the back and working on it. THEY FIXED MY CAR IN ONE HOUR. They got the part that it needed and fixed it, on a Friday evening. I was out of there at 6:10 pm. I am not sure what I would have done if I couldn't get my car fixed as we have a long drive home today, Sunday. THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the awesome team here. You guys really made my weekend and although I don't hope my car breaks down again on the way to Truckee, I will be back for sure.
